Image c/o Cannon Courier; Pictured is a truck piled high with Appalachian chairs and baskets, likely made by homesteaders, being taken to be sold elsewhere, as a part of the Craft Revival Movement in the USA.
Page to be updated… I have a steady research practice, exploring what Southern Appalachia is, where the idea of it came from, who its people are, how me and my ancestors are a part of that, and how craft ties it all together. The myths, the images, the marketing, the economies, the labor, the extraction… I am questioning where and how it is all connected to a present-day way of being, and how this past might contribute to a future I want to be a part of.
